Problem of Sperm
Infertility is not totally problem of women; men’s sperm might one of the problem causes infertility. If the fertile is successful, the man must be able to deliver an adequate quantity of normal sperm into woman’s vagina, and the sperm can fertilize the egg successfully.
Temperature of the Sperm --- High temperature of testes can reduce the amount of sperm and the vigor of sperm movement. High temperature of testes can also increase the amount of abnormal sperm. Temperature might be increased by heat, disorder, fever and so on.
Hormonal / Genetic Disorder --- Hormonal disorder is caused by the body cannot produce sufficient sexual hormone to stimulate the production of sperm. Genetic disorder is caused by abnormality of the sex chromosoms, such as Klinefelter syndrome (XXY chromosome).
External Factors --- Injury of testes, explore to industrial, toxin or drugs also might affect the production of sperm. Excessive alcohol intake also may reduce production of sperm.
Disorder either part of the sexual organ --- Azoospermia is caused by the absence of sperm in semen. It might because of serious disorder of testes, blockage of vasa defenretia, missing of sminal vesical, or bloackage of ejaculatory duct.
Problem of Ovulation
A common cause of infertility is the problem of ovulation. The ovaries do not release the ovum every month. The female might not produce enough of progesterone, therefore the female’s uterus is not able to prepare suitable environment for the fertilized egg implant on the uterus. It might also the female is not able to secrete gonadotropin releasing hormone; therefore, ovulation cannot be occurred. Ovulation problem might also caused by polycystic ovary syndrome, thyroid gland disorder, adrenal gland disorder, excessive exercise, diabetes, weight loss, obesity, or psychologic stress.
Ovulation problem always occur on those women who have irregular menstrual periods or no menstrual period. However, sometime ovulation problem also might occur on those women who have regular menstrual periods, but do not have premenstrual symptoms, such as: tenderness, lower abnorminal swelling, and mood changes.
Problem of Fallopian Tubes
Abnormal function and structure of fallopian tubes might cause the egg cannot be travel from ovary to uterus, therefore, fertilization cannot be occurred. Structural disorders such as birth defects of uterus and fallopian tubes, fibroids in uterus and band of scar tissues between normally unconnected structures in the uterus or pelvis can block the fallopian tubes.
